Earlier this week, Amazon officially announced the dates of Prime Day and dropped some extra-early savings. The bad news is there isn’t much on sale and most of it is from Amazon’s in-house brands, including batteries and space-saving velvet hangers. You can keep tabs on our coverage here, and I’ve also added some savings I spotted below, so keep scrolling. But some of the best deals this week are elsewhere — including a Dyson hair-dryer dupe, sale-on-sale steals at J.Crew and Spanx, and a rare sitewide sale at True Botanicals. (If you want even more, sign up for our newsletter for even more sales coverage from me. I send out five subscriber-only deals each Friday, including a few discount codes just for Strategist readers.)
As I mentioned above, Amazon’s early Prime Day deals are mainly on Amazon Basics, but I was delighted to find that that includes products for pets. Your cat can get a bit of fresh air — without getting farther than your back patio — with this zippered playpen.
Here’s a fast-drying blow-dryer from Shark that’s a near dupe for the Dyson. It comes in three colors — gray, rose, and matcha — and is $70 off with the code SPACE70. (You can get it for the same price at Amazon but only in matcha, pictured here.)
I spotted a rare deal on the JBL Flip 6 speaker, which is one of our favorite speakers for parties. It’s waterproof, Bluetooth-equipped, and lasts up to 12 hours.
Perennial mosquito victim (and Great Jones co-founder) Sierra Tishgart told us that she uses a handheld and “completely odor-free” bug-repeller from Thermacell during the summer. This larger model offers a 15-foot zone of protection and a six-and-a-half-hour battery life (that can be charged while you’re using it).
This is the cheapest I’ve ever seen these noise-canceling Beats headphones. Chef and overall cool person Daniela Soto-Innes loves that they never fall off and stay put “whether I’m walking to work or working out.”
Dyson’s bladeless fan can blow cool or hot air, making it perfect for year-round use. Taryn Toomey, the founder of the boutique fitness program the Class, told us she uses them to crank up the heat during workout sessions.
Sandals are 40 percent off at Merrell for a limited time, and Amazon is price-matching a few of them — like these grippy-bottomed, orthopedic-looking slides.
These sporty sandals, which come in four colors, remind me of a cross between Chacos and Salomons. (I spotted that Moosejaw is price-matching this pair, too.)
It’s not really the season for the Moc 3’s, but they do make incredibly comfy walking shoes. Fashion designer Sandy Liang wore hers on a weeklong Normal People–inspired trip from Dublin to the Atlantic Coast, saying that they “make her feet look like small but hefty loaves of bread.”
Every single bra at Cuup is $50 right now. We’ve written about nearly every pair, but I’ve been eyeing the Balconette, which stylist Beverly Nguyen says has a chic “half-corset” fit.
A cache of acne-targeting Clinique products are on sale at Target and Ulta. This liquid exfoliator is formulated with salicylic acid to sweep away dead skin cells and reduce excess oil.
Select sale items at J.Crew are an extra 60 percent off with the code SHOPSALE through June 28. The brand is clearing out inventory from its collaboration with Dauphinette, so you can nab the summery wicker bag for just $30.
This fitted polo tee comes in six colors, but this microstripe option is only $11.
J.Crew’s actually stylish rash guard works well for cold-water swims or as an extra layer of sun protection if you’re tired of reapplying sunscreen.
Everything at True Botanicals is 20 percent off through Sunday night, but if you spend $250 or more, you can get 25 percent off — or 30 percent off when you spend $400. Eva Mendes told us her skin craves this facial oil.
The women’s section of American Eagle has a lot of cute sleepwear, like this fluttery pair of shorts that comes in green, purple, and coral.
If you’re looking for denim or swim trunks, you’re in luck, as the men’s section has ample options to choose from. We like these slightly stretchy jorts.
One of our favorite under-$50 one-piece swimsuits is even cheaper than usual. Content creator Kelsey Kotzur loves how “size inclusive and stretchy and soft” it is and reaches for it when she’ll be moving around a lot or if she’s around family members and wants a suit that’s “a bit more modest.”
Although they’re designed to be period underwear, stylist Julia Gudova told us this pair is a great option when it comes to hiding sweat, too — and it comes in sizes XS through 4XL.
Our favorite soft-cup wireless bra is over half off and comes in a range of colors and patterns. Aysha Harun says the LuxeLift feels like a nearly undetectable “second skin,” and the moisture-wicking nylon and spandex “really lets the girls breathe.”
For even more wire-free options, head on over to Spanx, where already-on-sale items are an extra 30 percent off with the code SALE. This unlined bralette has a smoothing back and sides and comes in four colors.
And here’s a pair of satin briefs that you can’t even tell are shapewear.
The Strategist is designed to surface the most useful, expert recommendations for things to buy across the vast e-commerce landscape. Some of our latest conquests include the best acne treatments, rolling luggage, pillows for side sleepers, natural anxiety remedies, and bath towels. We update links when possible, but note that deals can expire and all prices are subject to change.
