A beautifully scented candle is one of those indulgences I never buy for myself, but I love receiving — and giving — them as gifts. One of the Strategist’s favorite candlemakers, Boy Smells, offers an earthy, tomatoey-scented candle appropriately named Gardener. In fact, we once described the fragrance as a good alternative to being near some greenery when you’re far from it. It’s among the first of a new crop of “heirloom tomato” candles, a trend we first noticed a couple of years ago and don’t see slowing down. As far as “status” candles go, Boy Smells, whose candles are made of a coconut-and-beeswax blend, is already well priced. But at Nordstrom, it’s nearly 35 percent off, bringing it down to $25. That’s certainly a great price point for buying in multiples for your loved ones — or yourself. Other scents, including Cinderose, Lanai, and Redhead, are also just $25.

The Strategist is designed to surface the most useful, expert recommendations for things to buy across the vast e-commerce landscape. Some of our latest conquests include the best acne treatments, rolling luggage, pillows for side sleepers, natural anxiety remedies, and bath towels. We update links when possible, but note that deals can expire and all prices are subject to change.
