If you’re looking for extra-early Memorial Day sales — and you’re not in the market for a mattress — your best bet is to look for discounts at DTC home-furniture brands like Article, as they’re usually earliest to the game. One of our favorites, Article launched its sale today — and the discounts are actually pretty good at up to 30 percent off. It makes our best-in-class sofabed frame, and dining chair, and I found all those items (or very similar versions) discounted as part of Article’s Memorial Day sale, along with a huge selection of furniture and décor for your living room, dining room, bedroom, and patio. Some of the discounts aren’t really discounts at all — I saw some items for 5 percent off, which is not my gig — but I found plenty of actually good steals, which I’ve listed below. So scroll on, or do some sifting of your own on Articles’s Memorial Day sale page.

For the living room

It’s not the biggest discount, but our favorite Sven sofa is $120 off.

As is the sectional version if you’d like some extra wiggle room.

A plush bouclé armchair for morning reading or end-of-day lounging.

Here’s a nice-looking fringed rug that won’t pill.

A round, smoked-glass side table with a place to stow your magazines down below.

A slim, powder-coated steel console to stash knickknacks.

For the dining room

Article makes handsome (and affordable) dining chairs such as this simple mid-century-modern-esque option.

The stackable version of our best-in-class dining chair is 25 percent off in this dusty pink color. Not as good of a deal, but it’s discounted $10 in blue, teal, and white, too.

This Cesca-esque bench would look equally nice in the bedroom, too.

For the bedroom

Our best overall bed frame is 25 percent off in white. Strategist writer Emma Wartzman, who owns this bed in walnut, says it “feels incredibly sturdy, the wood looks high quality (something I was definitely nervous about with other models), and the sides are low enough to make bed-making easy.”

I’m intrigued by this beach cane-and-oak bed frame, which is neutral without being boring. (I think it would nicely match the Vianen bench above, too.)

If you have minimal floor space — or an aversion to headboards — this now-under-$300 bed frame is nice looking (and Strategist editor approved).

The matching nightstand is $100 off, too!

For the patio and outdoors

These steel, powder-coated outdoor chairs look delightfully lightweight. (Note that they are only sold in pairs.)

A glass-and-metal candle lantern for vibe-y nights outside.

The Strategist is designed to surface the most useful, expert recommendations for things to buy across the vast e-commerce landscape. Some of our latest conquests include the best acne treatments, rolling luggage, pillows for side sleepers, natural anxiety remedies, and bath towels.
