With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, you may be eyeing a bouquet to send to your beloved. And while fresh flowers are always appreciated, if you’re looking to gift something a little bit unexpected this year, a dried floral arrangement offers a fun twist on the tradition. A dozen roses is always nice, but a dried arrangement is something that can be enjoyed all year, since it’ll never wilt. Plus you don’t have to worry about adding water. Below, find 14 bouquets — most of which are from Strategist-vetted brands that we’ve written about before — all of which will arrive in time for the big day. And if you do pick one out, we suggest adding a nice vase to complete the gift.
We dubbed UrbanStems “our absolute favorite,” flowers to buy online back in 2019, hailing them as “the ones we would get if we were to order our own based on the reasonable prices and unique arrangements.” Since then, the company has expanded its offerings to include some stunning dried options in a variety of colors, like this moody, magenta-hued bouquet, which includes orchids, bunny tails, ruscus, and sorgum. For $115, you also get a sleek white vase with your order.
For a more affordable option, we also like this pink pampas bouquet (which includes a ceramic vase). Already arranged for you upon arrival, it comes in signature packaging that looks like a gift box, so you don’t have to do anything but some light fluffing.
We love Bouqs Co. for its straight-from-the-farm flowers, which it carefully dries and arranges. For an earthly arrangement, we like this one, which features 24 stems of golden baby’s breath, copper-colored pampas, pink sorghum, wheat, and dark-pink palms. For an additional $12, you can add in a signature vase.
Or try this one, which includes violet baby’s breath, dark-green eucalyptus, white bunny tails, and orchard grass. Note that The Bouqs Co. does recommend lightly trimming the bottoms of the stems to best fit into your selected vase. It also suggests gently removing any dust that may accumulate with a soft brush or feather duster (or try using a hairdryer on low).
Amazon also offers a selection of affordable dried bouquets which will ship quickly if you need that last minute. Note that the flowers above do ship flat, so you will have to arrange them yourself once they arrive.
House of Lilac’s arrangements come in several sizes: small, medium, and large. Since its dried flowers change weekly depending on seasonality, after you pick the size of your bouquet, you select a theme (such as “romantic,” “moody,” “bright,” “white and nude,” or “seasonal”) and it creates your bouquet from then. The medium arrangement above also includes the bubble vase shown. And if you’re dealing with a smaller space, it also has bouquets in bud vases starting for just $30. House of Lilac currently offers a discount if you’re looking to buy bouquets for several loved ones in your life or need arrangements for an event. You can take 10 percent off four or more arrangements with code EVENT10, 15 percent off 10 or more arrangement with code EVENT15, and 20 percent off 20 of more arrangements with code EVENT20.
I purchased a bouquet for myself from New York City–based florist Popupflorist at a pop-up several Valentine’s Days ago that I kept as a centerpiece on my kitchen table for more than a year. While it offers plenty of options, we particularly love this textured arrangement from its Valentine’s Day collection — in a seasonally appropriate palette of pink and red — that includes a chocolate bar from our favorite confectionery, Tony Chocolonley, as well as a complimentary love note typed on Valentine’s Day stationery.
In our gift guide for new moms, we recommended East Olivia, which only sells forever florals. With its explosion of reed grasses, ming ferns, eucalyptus, and Congo grass, this lush arrangement is particularly nice for the valentine who prefers plants to traditional flowers.
This bouquet from Terrain is handcrafted by a woman-owned team in Washington state and includes blue larkspur, poppy pods, and brush twigs which create a woodsy, whimsical look.
We also found a surprisingly nice selection of Terrain bouquets at Anthropologie.
Idlewild, which specializes in dried flowers, offers one of the widest selections of arrangements. Its preserved flowers are carefully arranged by hand and are harvested at the peak of their bloom. Its process includes air-drying the flowers while preserving the stems with natural glycerin, which the brand says keeps the flowers looking pristine for a minimum of 12 months. For an additional $5, you can also add a card. We particularly love the bright colors of its rainbow bouquet, though it offers a variety of colors and textures. It also makes customized arrangements from its selection of flowers by the bunch.
This bundle, which we called an “unexpected mix of verdant green foliage, red and pink exotic flowers, and black accents,” made it onto our list of the best Valentine’s Day flowers you can buy online.
