If you’re like us, you’ve probably wondered what famous people add to their carts. Not the JAR brooch and Louis XV chair, but the hand sanitizer and the electric toothbrush. We’ve asked designer Laure Hériard Dubreuil — founder and CEO of The Webster and designer of LHD — which products she can’t live without.
No need to fly to Paris anymore! There is absolutely no one better than David and his team when it comes to hair, and now he has a salon in New York [Editor’s note: The new salon is at Dubreuil’s Webster Soho]. The Hair Serum DM027 is my absolute favorite because the smell of macadamia oil is exquisite. I have a very sensitive sense of smell. Growing up I wanted to be a nose, but I soon found out developing fragrance is a very long process, and fashion moves faster, so I chose fashion.
Many people suggest getting some sunshine to ward off jet lag. I can never get enough sunshine — my first-grade teacher called me “the tropical plant” because of my love for sun. Vitamin D is like sunshine in a bottle — it helps fight inflammation and strengthen your immune system, in addition to helping mental clarity and regulating the melatonin levels in your body, which helps get your body ready for sleep. Try the oral spray by Dr. Mercola, which he recommends you use up to five times a day. It’s always in my suitcase, and I don’t know how I managed prior to discovering it.
I like to keep things very simple with my skin, but Joanna Czech facials are unbelievable. I use her roller religiously. Roll upwards! I do it three times on each side. It helps with puffiness but mainly I do it because it feels wonderful. It’s the first one I’ve ever used and I love it.
I love these sweaters. They are all soft colors that complement all skin, hair, and eye colors and make a New York winter a little easier. I have one in every single color. They are my uniform.
I drink a lot of water and Evian is my brand of choice. I actually don’t know why. Habit!
I love every shade they do. Everything down to the packaging is consciously crafted and ethical, finished in the most beautiful way. I have my initials embossed on my leather case, which is refillable and feels super chic when you’re applying it. Plus it doesn’t leave a lipstick mark on your coffee cup, which is the ultimate deal-breaker.
I don’t drink coffee but love tea, especially when it’s Mariage Frères. I love the taste but also the packaging. I probably drink three to four cups of green tea daily.
The combination of living in New York and running after my 5-year-old means I’m wearing sneakers more often than not. Stella McCartney’s are some of my favorites because they are chunky but still feel feminine. I wear them with skirts or jeans — they’re so super-versatile.
Every LHD collection is inspired by my travels, and this is from our Careyes collection and the easiest piece to travel with as works for all climates. Every collection is made up of sun dresses and separates, in light, easy fabrics, full of color, with the prints inspired by destinations I love. It solved a packing problem for me as it’s exactly how I dress when I’m on holiday.
