As you may have noticed, our Father’s Day coverage is in full swing. (You’ve got just over one week left to do your shopping, FYI.) I’ve been updating my guide to on-sale gifts that won’t look like you bought them on sale all week, and I pulled a few of my favorite recent adds below. I also took a peek at what our readers are clicking on from Ilia’s sitewide sale and Gap’s sale-on-sale. So far, a very cute summer dress and a breathable skin tint are among the most popular.
It should come as no surprise that the Strategist staff has a Slack channel specifically dedicated to all the great stuff we find on sale, so this Friday I’ve added some of their best finds to my mega-roundup, like a linen tank top from J.Crew and a toy garbage truck that’s over 40 percent off. And, of course, I included a few things I like (at prices I like). Scroll on for all the goodies, and, as always, make sure to sign up for our email newsletter for even more sales coverage — including extra subscriber-only deals each Friday hand-selected by yours truly.
Let’s start with an exciting exclusive discount just for Strategist readers. This weekend only, use the code STRATEGIST20 to take 20 percent off some of our favorite linen bedding, including the brand’s fitted sheet, top sheet, pillowcases, duvet cover, and shams (Euro size too!). Several Strategist staffers swear by this duvet cover, which we named our best linen option. The European flax only gets softer over time.
One fun thing I added to my Father’s Day gift on sale piece yesterday: The duck-shaped toast tongs writer Kat Gillespie calls “a great gift for any toaster power users.” They’re only $9 right now, but I’m also including the Amazon link, if you’d prefer to shop there.
In case you missed yesterday’s Deal of the Day, several of Lululemon’s Everywhere belt bags are only $29 right now.
Just in time for the impending heat wave, our favorite French-pharmacy thermal water is 25 percent off. It “delivers a mist fine enough to water an orchid,” according to the Cut’s former beauty director Kathleen Hou.
Ilia’s sitewide sale is back, and our beauty writer Kitty Guo has put together a cheatsheet for shopping the sale. She says the brand’s dermatologist-recommended skin tint — a top seller among Strategist readers — blurs imperfections and melts into the skin for a radiant no-makeup-makeup look.
Ilia’s slightly shimmery cream blush stick (which made an appearance in May December) is great on the lips and eyes too. I have one in a Champagne-pearl shade, which is a nice, not-too-glittery highlight.
Everything at Kiehl’s is 25 percent off right now. Its powerful vitamin-C serum targets dullness, fine lines, and wrinkles and is especially good for mature skin.
Gap’s sale-on-sale isn’t as good as it was earlier this week — now it’s an extra 30 percent off instead of 50 percent — but you’ll still get a really good deal; just use the code GREAT at checkout. Strategist readers have been very enamored with this ruffle-hem minidress from senior writer Liza Corsillo’s roundup of her favorites from the sale.
Strategist writer Lauren Ro owns five of these tank tops — and today they’re even cheaper than when she spotted them on sale last week!
J.Crew is having a really good sale right now, too. Tons of summer essentials are 40 percent off with the code SHOPNOW, and the same code also gives you an extra 15 percent off your entire order. This precious linen tank top has a sweet bow detail on the back and comes in four colors (though red is only in stock right in sizes large through 3X).
A few of Flore Flore’s organic-cotton basics are very on sale at Matches Fashion. Several Strategist staffers are fans of the brand, and I’m personally eyeing this bright blue tee, which has intriguing details like subtly thicker banded cuffs and a center back seam.
It’s not quite the season for long sleeves, but this did make it into our best-in-class long-sleeve T-shirts guide.
Our fashion writer Ambar Pardilla alerted me to Carel’s (rare) sale, where select shoes are 30 percent off with the code CARELFIRST. I was shocked to find that these handsome buckled pumps are still available in nearly every size.
Even more footwear deals: Camper is offering up to 40 percent off hundreds of items for its Private Sale. (You will have to enter your email to access the sale.) As someone who lives in slip-ons over the summer, these look very comfy but not frumpy.
For even more casual footwear, these non-basic Birks (which we wrote about earlier this week) are still 40 percent off.
A spacious tote that I could see being a nice Father’s Day gift.
Our best-in-class baby carrier works for a range of body types and is comfortable for both Mom and Dad. Ro and her husband both used this with both their boys when they were babies.
Dreamegg’s Strategist-approved sound machine is just $17, which is the cheapest I’ve seen it in a while.
Stanley is offering 25 percent off select items through June 17 with the code HELLOSUMMER, including this classic camping thermos.
If it’s your kid who’s off to camp (summer camp, that is), this is our best kids’ water bottle for hiking and camping. It’s only on sale in this dark gray color, but I think it’s the perfect backdrop for customizing with stickers.
Dick’s Sporting Goods is also offering 25 percent off a selection of Stanley products, including this hardshell (but still schlepp-able) cooler that can hold 21 cans of your drink of choice.
Here are some tasty electrolyte powders that our fitness writer uses for post-workout recovery.
Caraway’s stainless-steel cookware is 20 percent off through June 9. That includes already-discounted bundles, like this space-saving mini fry pan and sauce pan duo.
Sur La Table’s flash sale may be over, but these stackable bodega glasses from Bormioli Rocco, makers of some of our best-in-class drinking glasses, are actually even cheaper than they were earlier this week.
Wayfair is inflating the original price, but this is still a good deal on a pretty rug.
Corsillo also spotted tons of half-off kids’ clothing from Arket on sale at Mr Porter, of all places.
Great swim shorts (that will be easily spottable on a crowded beach).
I also found a lot of nice Nike duds on sale, like these lounge shorts with pockets.
Corsillo also found some great deals on toys at Target. This magical genie lamp grants wishes and reveals an interactive pet when you rub its light-up jewel.
My 5- and 7-year-old brothers ritualistically wait for the garbage truck to go down their street each week — maybe I’ll buy this and stash it for the holidays.
Finally, baby’s first tractor.
The Strategist is designed to surface the most useful, expert recommendations for things to buy across the vast e-commerce landscape.
