For this week’s Don’t DillyDally, we’ve surfaced a range of new things we’re sure will sell out, including Baggu’s colorful new coffee-table book, a dewy night cream from Ole Henriksen, and cowboy boots designed by Lucchese and Wrangler.
This week in beauty news, hair-care company Ouai has just released its newest product, an anti-dandruff shampoo. It contains 2 percent salicylic acid (an ingredient often found in acne-fighting solutions for its ability to exfoliate the skin) and is formulated to stop flaking and itching — while still getting your hair clean. It also features a refreshing ginger, basil, and spearmint scent.
And Scandinavian skin-care label Ole Henriksen — which makes Strategist beauty columnist Rio Viera-Newton’s favorite brightening eye cream — has launched a new night cream. The whimsically named “Dewtopia” is formulated with 5 percent AHAs (alpha hydroxy acids, which help with exfoliation). The cream promises to hydrate and re-texturize your face while also reducing wrinkles and fine lines.
Beloved bag brand Baggu — which it’s no secret we’re big fans of — marks 15 years in business this year and is celebrating by publishing a coffee-table book. The “comprehensive visual archive” includes 680 pages’ worth of prints, materials, and products the brand has made since it was founded. And you can choose between different covers in one of its famous patterns — though the pretty “orange tree” pattern is sadly sold out already.
Intimates start-up Harper Wilde just introduced the Base Unlined Bra. It’s designed to be a combination of two of its most popular styles: the lightly lined Base and the wireless Bliss. Former Strategist senior writer Karen Iorio Adelson tested out both, describing the former as “thoughtfully designed” and the latter as “in fact, blissful.” So this bra looks promising, especially as it features the brand’s convenient front-adjusting straps.
Rowing Blazers is known for its wide variety of collaborations with everyone from Sonic the Hedgehog to English interior designer Luke Edwall Hall. Its latest is a five-piece collection with Hunter that includes the rain boot maker’s signature short, tall, and Chelsea styles — all decorated with colorful stripes. This particular pair resembles RB’s croquet rugby jersey.
Bespoke bootmaker Lucchese is a favorite among the cowgirl (and cowboy) set. And the company has now teamed up with Wrangler, another western-wear icon, for a limited-edition collection in honor of Wrangler’s 75th anniversary. The selection includes a pair of premium jeans handmade in North Carolina from unwashed indigo selvedge denim, along with splurgy boots fashioned from full-quill ostrich to give them a distinctive and traditional look.
Streetwear label Krost’s fourth collaboration with Fila has arrived — and includes a number of hoodies, T-shirts, tank tops, and sweatpants. But your best bet just might be this version of Fila’s Teratach 600s, which were originally released back in 1991. The dad-style sneakers feature green piping all along the shoe. And as Krost is known for its efforts to give back, a portion of the proceeds from the collaboration will be donated to nonprofit Good Sports, which works to provide “equitable access in youth sports.”
Strategist contributor Erica Cerulo compares Henry Rose’s Windows Down to a “grown-up Gap Dream,” which debuted back when she was in junior high. The fragrance features notes of grapefruit, bergamot, and Earl Grey tea, a blend that Cerulo calls “akin to reading a romance novel in which you know you’re going to get a happily ever after or rewatching an episode of Friends for the seventh time.” And now the perfumer (which was founded by Michelle Pfeiffer) has released the fragrance in candle form.
Grammy Award-winning musician Leon Bridges worked with Salt & Stone, which bills itself as a natural-skin-care company, on the just-released Blue Mesas Collection. On offer are a number of the brand’s bestsellers, which have been “infused with soothing, natural fragrances carefully curated by [Bridges].” The singer’s inspiration for the scents apparently came from his dad’s musky, woody colognes and mother’s incense; this body wash features notes of black rose, lily of the valley, and vetiver.
The Strategist is designed to surface the most useful, expert recommendations for things to buy across the vast e-commerce landscape. Some of our latest conquests include the best acne treatments, rolling luggage, pillows for side sleepers, natural anxiety remedies, and bath towels. We update links when possible, but note that deals can expire and all prices are subject to change.
