A Very Nice Kids’ Duvet (That Works for Adults, Too)

Perhaps you’ve noticed that here at the Strategist, we are pro-adults shopping the kids’ section. As home writer Lauren Ro said recently in her roundup of kids’ home décor that works just as well for adults, “The products tend to cost less, fit smaller city-size spaces more efficiently, and, of course, delight in a way that furnishings for grown-ups typically don’t.” A perfect example: This cheerful cornflower-blue plaid duvet from Zara Home. It’s 200-thread-count, has a reversible cover (plaid on one side, plain cream on the other), and is made from 100 percent breathable cotton that’s machine washable. Technically it’s for kids, but our sleep editor Jen Trolio says the “double” size is big enough to fit a full-size mattress, with roughly 16 inches of overhang on the sides of the bed (depending how you make your bed). It’s 20 percent off right now, making it $56 for a twin and $72 for a double. And if you want the full set, the matching shams and sheets are on sale, too.

The Strategist is designed to surface useful, expert recommendations for things to buy across the vast e-commerce landscape. Every product is independently selected by our team of editors, whom you can read about here. We update links when possible, but note that deals can expire and all prices are subject to change.
