Roughly 20 minutes into the debate between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump on Tuesday night, Harris gave a long and impassioned answer on abortion, her strongest issue in this election.
Harris linked Trump to abortion bans that make no exception for rape and incest. “Understand what that means,” Harris said. “A survivor of a crime of violation to their body does not have the right to decide what happens to their body next. That is immoral. And one does not have to abandon their faith or deeply held beliefs to agree the government and Donald Trump certainly should not be telling a woman what to do with her body.”
She then claimed that Trump would sign a national abortion ban if he were elected — which he didn’t deny. Watch Harris’s full answer here:
