Divisive ‘Real Housewives of Atlanta’ episode airs months after Kenya Moore left the show

Moore showed sexually explicit images of new castmate Brittany Eady after Eady threatened her with a gun, which led Moore to exit the series early.

Bravo aired a controversial moment from "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" on Sunday that led to the exit of star Kenya Moore, an incident from last year when she showed sexually explicit photos of a fellow cast member.

The incident became public in June, when TMZ reported that Moore showed the images of new cast member Brittany Eady at an event. Moore was reportedly placed on suspension and eventually parted ways with Bravo.

This season's fifth episode showed the incident Sunday, but Bravo did not allow the images to be aired.

Tensions between Moore and Eady boiled over in the previous episode when the two got into a verbal argument at a cast dinner. By the end, Eady made threatening remarks as she left, insinuating she'd shoot Moore.

"I still got my pistols, so," Eady said at one point. She later followed up with: "I don't play them games. I got whips ... pistols, everything."

Members of the production crew are seen on camera as Eady makes the comments, momentarily breaking the fourth wall, but they are not shown speaking to Eady as others try to calm her down.

Moore is then seen getting in a car with fellow cast members, alerting them that Eady is "talking about guns."

"She was talking about how 'I still got my pistol on me,'" Moore is heard saying off camera. "This girl is a problem. She gotta go."

The episode ends there, and the following week Eady expresses contrition about her remarks to other cast members. She appears at the grand opening party of Moore's salon with flowers to apologize. Moore ignores the attempted apology and has apparently already decided to respond to the threats by using the party to humiliate Eady by showing sexually explicit images of her. Eady leaves the event before the images are shown.

"So this woman was saying all this stuff like 'You don't know who the f--- I am,'" Moore tells the crowd, referring to Eady. "I'm like, no I don't know who you are. So I did a little research."

Moore pulls out poster boards with the images of Eady and shows them to the crowd while cameras roll. The images are not shown on camera, but others describe them.

Fellow "Real Housewives" cast members are visibly uncomfortable over Moore's display and tell Moore she is going "too far."

"No, it ain't too far ... she threatened me with a gun," Moore tells them. "Don't tell me it's too far."

Cast member Porsha Williams, who said in her confessional interview that she was mortified, was filmed leaving the opening party along with multiple other cast members. Williams then told production staff members that she was ready to go and no longer wanted to be filmed.

Eady clearly did not consent to the images’ being shown at the event. She captioned a short video of herself Sunday on Instagram: "I’m still standing strong no matter what."

She did not address the incident during the episode.

Bravo did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The episode ends with a title card that read: "Based on Kenya's behavior, the decision was made to cease filming with her this season."

Fans on social media had vocal reactions, many condemning Moore's behavior while, at the same time, criticizing the production staff for not having responded to Eady's threats before the situation escalated.

"You can’t threaten someone with gun violence and dictate how they respond to that threat," a viewer wrote on X.

Another person wrote, "I HATE how Kenya retaliated but the way Bravo handled this (TO ME) was unfair."

"The real villain is the network/production for not stepping in when Brit mentioned a gun," a fan posted. "I don’t know how in the world she was able to get away with that. That could have prevented Kenya from going this far."
