The Cut’s editor-in-chief Lindsay Peoples today announced a new hire at the publication, with Ej Dickson joining as a senior writer. In her new role, Dickson will cover culture in all its forms.
“Ej is one of the sharpest culture reporters working,” said Peoples. “From in-depth investigations to buzzy profiles to explaining viral stars and trends, she’s made an indelible mark on the media landscape, and we are thrilled to have her join the team at the Cut.”
Dickson was previously the senior writer covering internet culture at Rolling Stone, where she wrote cover stories about Doja Cat and Mr. Beast and published a number of print and digital features, as well as investigative pieces on Andrew Tate’s manosphere empire, Instagram cults, and the viral murder of a 17-year-old influencer. Dickson broke stories about alleged mistreatment in Jojo Siwa’s girl group XOMG Pop! as well as assault allegations against podcast host Ben Kissel and sexual-assault allegations against the adult performer Ron Jeremy. Her work has been featured on CBS’s 48 Hours and ABC’s 20/20, and she recently appeared in the Hulu documentary OnlyFans: Selling Sexy as well as Hulu and ABC News’ documentary series The Age of Influence.
Dickson joined the Cut in September.
