What Are Some Affordable Stone Coffee Tables?

I’m looking for a stone coffee table that’ll ideally be under $700 and is on the smaller side — max dimensions 34 x 30. I’ve been searching everywhere and can’t find anything that doesn’t have cheap college-apartment vibes.

As someone who just spent the past three weeks hunting for a reasonably priced “chair and a half” (smaller than a love seat, bigger than a chair), I am absolutely with you on the difficulties of finding affordable-but-not-college-looking furniture with precise dimension requirements. That said, I brought my search to a close last weekend after finding the perfect Nancy Meyers–living–room–esque piece (see here), and I believe we can bring home your search, too, with a stone coffee table that’s more apartment-size Richard Serra than college dorm. Below, some options within your dimensions and price point, made from stones of all kinds.

At 31 x 31 inches and $399, this CB2 cement table fits your budget and dimensions perfectly and is pretty striking. According to CB2, it was designed in collaboration with Barcelona-based design studio Mermelada Estudio and is made of cement, natural fibers, and a stone-powder blend. The perfect piece for someone looking for a little brutalism with their morning coffee, which you are.

And if you prefer a round coffee table, this one is well within your dimensions at a 30-inch diameter, and, at $499, is also well within the budget (one thing to consider when budgeting for a stone table is that they’re heavy and shipping will cost you — the shipping on this one is a flat rate of $149, so while it’ll definitely up the final cost, you’ll still be within budget).

A simple cement drum table that I’m imagining adorned with a similarly minimalist vase and some bright red tulips.

If you want something with a smaller footprint, either of these could work, depending on whether you’re inclined toward a square or circle.

Maybe you had something in a darker shade in mind, in which case this table, which apparently was inspired by ancient-Greek columns, is a charming option. It looks like something a well-traveled great-aunt on the Upper West Side would have in her apartment, and, at a 27.56-inch diameter, would fit in your place too.

This one is on the smaller side (20-inch diameter) and with its skinny steel legs strikes a nice balance of utilitarian and elegant — it’s also part of a rare ABC Home sale, which brings the price down to a reasonable $368.

Or maybe you want a stone table that literally looks like a stone? Hear me out: The subtle trompe l’oeil effect of a stone table shaped like a stone is bizarre enough to be cool, I think, and will stand out from the more utilitarian picks on this list.

At 36-inch diameter, this is a little larger than your dimensions (and, at $699, just barely in the budget) — but if you can squeeze a few more inches, this one is surprisingly airy for being a stone table, and the smooth limestone gives it a slightly more polished look than some of the grainier concrete options here.

A furniture hunt isn’t complete without a little browsing on Chairish, where my best friend actually bought a gorgeous green stone table not long ago (and talked the price down by about half!). Since the pieces are usually antiques and one of a kind, you will have to be a bit quicker to jump — but if you’re looking for a slightly more traditional stone coffee table, this handsome, “Tuscan-style” 30-inch round one just might be worth it.

This sleek chrome-and-granite number stood out to me too, should you be going for a 1990s bachelor-pad vibe.
