We asked actor and comedian Kel Mitchell — who recently reprised his role as Ed in Good Burger 2 — about the beard trimmers he takes on the road, the portable pull-up bar he found through an American Ninja Warrior, and the buttery noise-canceling headphones can’t live without.

I’m big on fitness, and I love doing pull-ups, because I do calisthenics. But I travel a lot, so I was like, I need a portable pull-up bar. These are amazing. They’re very small and you can put them on any door at hotels, wherever you go. I found it through a fitness influencer. He did American Ninja Warrior, so I trust him. I’ve had them for a long time, and they don’t break. You can do everything on them; you could do back levers, flips, whatever you wanna do.

Oh, it’s like butter. No, seriously. It has different levels that you can turn on and it’s like you’re in a studio recording-booth closet. You can’t hear anything. You see everybody’s mouths moving, but you don’t really hear them. It’s very calming. I had to learn not to turn them on when I’m with the kids, though, because they were like, “Daddy, Daddy, Daddy, Daddy.” I was like, Oh, wait, wait. I have these on. So I only use them when I travel. I listen to a lot of music. I’m always on Spotify. I listen to a lot of different podcasts as well, like KevOnStage.

I love it because you can click it to whatever shave you want: for your beard, or you can go all the way to stubble. When I’m on the road, I have my barbers in different cities that I love, but I also want to keep that same look and make sure I can be fly in between the haircuts.

I get my beard and my mustache razored, so this is the closest I can get it to that, with me not being a barber. It does help me out in between cuts.

I like to eat clean, but I’m a snacker and a bit of a foodie as well. So I had to do a healthy snack because I love a crunch. PopCorners are the best because they’re real healthy, but then they also have that crunch of eating something that’s like a greasy potato chip. You don’t feel like super full after eating them. Spicy queso’s number one. Coming in second — the white cheddar. I really like that one as well.

We started with Nutrisystem, which is another one we love. Me and my wife were like, Okay, we got the toddlers. We work out. We travel. And we love to cook, but we wanna do it in a timely fashion because we’re so busy. HelloFresh is perfect for that. Their meals are very delicious. They always have great, great, great recipes. And when we travel and we’re at a Airbnb, we also have HelloFresh. They just drop it off, boom, wherever you’re at.

I love shades and I wear every brand of sunglasses. But these ones have stood the test of time. Because, you know, with having toddlers, they might end up getting your glasses and might pull an arm or something like that. But I’ve had these thrown everywhere and they’re still intact and look amazing. And they look great on, too. I’m into fashion and I was out looking at shades and I was like, Oh, yeah, I need those.

I’m big on my faith. I’m a youth pastor as well as being an actor and a producer. It’s just a great, great app to get your day going and command your morning. I get up at 4:30 every morning, and I work out, meditate, and then I get into the app. They have devotionals where they have guest speakers that you can listen to. They talk about the Bible verse that you’re about to hear about. You can pray with the app as well. Then I’m on my way getting ready because then the toddlers wake up. That’s why me and my wife get up so early, because once they get up, it’s go time.
