We asked 15 famous people to tell us about the one thing they bought when they hit the big time and got their first paycheck — the gift they dreamt of getting themselves one day and finally did. Here, Molly Baz — the cookbook author, recipe developer, and video host — tells us about her buttery bedsheets that match her kitchen. Find more celebrity splurges here.

When I signed my second book deal, it was right around the time we had just finished renovating our new kitchen. For those who have not seen it, my kitchen is entirely monochromatic: the color of butter. Everything from the appliances to the cabinets and countertops — butter. Even the dishwasher — butter. All this to say, I was on a butter kick at the time — eating lots of butter and buying lots of butter-colored things.

My gift to myself after signing my second book deal was in some ways the gift of rest, something I knew I was going to need a lot of to pull another book off. I splurged on a brand new set of Tekla bedding — I love Tekla, but it’s not cheap! — and went for the whole shebammy. Duvet cover, pillow covers, top and bottom sheets. If you’re wondering how this relates to my kitchen? Yup, you guessed it. They were all the color of butter.

They are soft but not in a sweaty, T-shirt material way. My husband is a notoriously hot sleeper and I’m always cold, and somehow these have Goldilocks energy when it comes to temperature. They maintain crispness when the bed is made, while still being cozy. They’re just quality, and they make me feel adult. If butter isn’t your color, there are a ton of other options. I am currently eyeing sand beige and shadow stripes.
