This roundup of things we liked this week originally appeared in the October 3, 2024 edition of the Secret Strategist newsletter, a weekly email where we share the stuff our staff — plus a rotating cast of writers, design-world people, and various others with very good taste — would otherwise keep to themselves. If you want to get our picks straight to your inbox each week, sign up here.
All things for the home this week, including on-sale Abc, a fairly well-priced Knoll sling sofa, and a Los Angeles–based studio we like a lot. —Katy Schneider and Simone Kitchens
This Week’s List
* Last week, we encouraged you to replace your plates with these aluminum ones from Pan After. Now we think you should add to the collection with these stainless-steel bowls from Service Projects by way of the Primary Essentials.
* Just some extremely special hexagonal glasses.
* Strategist editor Winnie Yang noticed that CB2 is reproducing Paul McCobb designs. Model E11 in blackened brass! And this is a very great pendant for under $300.
* Lots of our favorite sofas are on sale at Abc (a Cobble Hill Montauk, a Martha’s Vineyard). Even some rarely-on-sale Cisco Home on sale over there. (Still extremely expensive.)
* And for anyone wondering what kind of upholstered sofa Luke Edward Hall is lounging on here, it’s not Missoni — it’s an And Objects swathed in Pierre Frey fabric.
* This is the prettiest table lamp we’ve seen in a while. Also from Desmar, which we first covered back in February: this beautiful forged-iron coffee table.
* Very nice pendant for, say, a kitchen.
* Artist Na Kim posted a picture of this striped Buly toothbrush, and we can’t stop thinking about it.
Editor’s note: Officine Universelle Buly lists all prices in euros, so the price shown is an approximate conversion to U.S. dollars.
* Came across this hand-carved oak dining chair with a floral motif by Nik Gelormino. We’d love a set of six.
* A few Facebook Marketplace finds:
