Governor Paterson Gets a Good Poll, Relatively

The good news: As he continues to rely on tough-love tactics in his quest to reduce the state’s budget deficit — such as withholding $750 million in local aid — Governor Paterson’s favorability rating has reached 36 percent in the latest Sienna poll, up nine points since October, and the number of people saying he’s done a poor job as governor is the lowest since March. The bad news: He still trails Andrew Cuomo by 44 percent in a Democratic primary.
