HP’s chairman and CEO, Mark V. Hurd, resigned today, effective immediately, after an investigation into sexual-harassment charges form a former marketing contractor. The investigation found no violations of the company’s policy against sexual harassment, but Hurd did breach HP’s code of conduct. This comes on the heels of a $50 million settlement with the DOJ earlier this week over kickbacks for government IT contracts. In his statement, Hurd wrote, “As the investigation progressed, I realized there were instances in which I did not live up to the standards and principles of trust, respect and integrity that I have espoused at H.P.” [NYT]
