You might think that tonight’s Knicks-Kings game at the Garden is inconsequential, that it’s just one more game before the all-important trade deadline. But no: It’s a night to see Omri Casspi. As the Knicks’ website breathlessly declares, Sacramento small forward Casspi, the first Israeli player in NBA history, is in town for Jewish Heritage Night. ($54 and the purchase of a Knicks T-shirt in Hebrew gets you into a Q&A with him.) Casspi’s actually having a solid rookie year, and averaging about 30-some-odd minutes a game, though his most memorable moment was shaking hands with Hamed Haddadi, the Grizzlies player who’s the first Iranian player in the NBA. Casspi’s also getting tons more minutes than Jordan Hill. Whatever works.
