We always find it funny when hosts of the Winter Olympics have to cart in snow so everyone can have a fun time luging. (Lugeing? Lugging? Not sure on that one.) The planners in Vancouver have been working for years to make everything perfect for the world’s arrival, and then, just to be annoying, the weather turns warm and precipitation-less. Anyway, they have helicopters transporting snow from higher elevation to lower elevation, along with trucks carting in snow from anywhere close enough, so everyone can half-pipe. January was the warmest Vancouver January on record, which is just great. Also, if you’re looking at the forecast, the opening ceremonies on Friday are expected to be pelted with rain. Stupid atmosphere.
