It hasn’t been 100 percent confirmed yet, but after he showed up and looked good at practice yesterday, it’s appearing more and more likely that Eddy Curry, the 300-plus-pound albatross Donnie Walsh punches a photo of every evening, will be back in uniform for the Knicks tonight.
The Knicks play Detroit at the Garden, if you care, and though Curry isn’t expected to play, he’ll be around. (What’s he been up to in the meantime? Would you believe hanging out with LeBron James?) In a strange way, you have to kind of respect Curry for rehabbing his way back onto the court. He could have gone the Jerome James route, and just sat around getting fatter. No one might want him here, but doggone it, he’s coming back anyway.
Since the only other thing to do with the Knicks these days is count days until free agency opens, here’s Larry Coon’s comprehensive look at the Knicks’ off-season strategy. It’s extremely complicated, even more complicated than you think. But it sure beats watching Eddy Curry sit down for two and a half hours.
