Three times the Rangers tied the score against the Devils last night, and three times the Devils took the lead right back, eventually chasing Henrik Lundqvist after netting their fifth goal on seventeen shots. (It was the first time Lundqvist had ever gotten the hook against New Jersey.) That’s four straight losses for the Rangers, and though they still occupy the ninth spot in the standings, they’re now three points behind Boston. Also, the Bruins (as well as the tenth-place Thrashers, eleventh-place Lightning, and twelfth-place Panthers) have two games in hand. On the bright side (sort of), the Rangers did score three goals in the 6–3 loss, or three times as many as their previous two games combined.
