The Mets just had a conference call, and you’ll never believe this: Shortstop Jose Reyes is going to be out a little longer than initially thought. (You think you know a guy.) Reyes’s thyroid condition will take “between two to eight weeks” to clear up. During that time, the prescription is “rest, dietary changes and refraining from athletic activity.” Eight weeks from today is May 13, at the Florida Marlins. Worst case, it’ll be that long until Reyes can even start working out. Yep.
