Syracuse has two things going against it tonight as it begins its NCAA Tournament run: It’ll be without Arinze Onuaku, who injured his quad during the Big East Tournament and hasn’t practiced since, and it’s a member of the Big East Conference, which is clearly cursed. (The Curse of Bobby Gonzalez? No? Okay.) With regard to the former concern, Kris Joseph, the conference’s sixth-man of the year, will start in Onuaku’s place. But after watching what almost happened to Villanova yesterday (and what did happen against Vermont five years ago), you can bet your Real Men Wear Orange T-shirt that Jim Boeheim and company won’t be looking past the Catamounts tonight when they tip off at the late-for-an-East-Coast-sporting-event hour of 9:30.
