As of today, the fourth day of uncapped NFL free agency, the local teams have combined to sign just one unrestricted free agent: Safety Antrel Rolle will join Kenny Phillips in the Giants secondary after signing a contract worth upwards of $37 million over five seasons. The Jets, meanwhile, remain handcuffed by the league’s “Final Eight” rule that will prevent them from making a big splash on the unrestricted free agent market this year. They did, however, trade Kerry Rhodes to Arizona (where he’ll replace Rolle) for a 2010 fourth-round pick and a 2011 seventh-round pick.
