Meet Earl Barron

If you were watching last night’s Knicks game and wondering who that seven-foot-tall fellow firing everybody up was, well, that was Earl Barron, your Knick here for the next five games. Barron, who scored seventeen points and grabbed eighteen rebounds in an upset victory over Boston at the Garden last night, is a 28-year-old center out of Memphis who was signed out of the D-League just last week. In the last death spasms of this Knicks season, getting signed out of the D-League gets you in the starting lineup. This isn’t Barron’s first NBA rodeo: He spent three years with the Heat before ending up back down in the D-League, where he averaged sixteen points and ten rebounds for the unstoppable force that is the Iowa Energy. He is the twentieth different human to play for the Knicks this season. He does not appear to know LeBron, sorry.
