You Guys, Baseball That Counts Is Two Days Away!

In a perfect world, when the Yankees open the 2010 Major League Baseball season against the Red Sox Sunday night, it would happen not at Fenway but in the Bronx, so the Red Sox players would be forced to watch the Yankees unveil a comically large World Champions banner, the reverse of Boston’s 2005 home opener. On the other hand, this means Yankee fans get two opening days to look forward to: one on Sunday, and one on April 13. Christmas basically comes twice this year (albeit once on Easter). Either way, there’s no easing into 2010: It’ll be CC Sabathia versus Josh Beckett right out of the gate, in a real, counts-in-the-standings baseball game. As they say: play ball!
