Mets Fall to the Looming Nationals Juggernaut

Okay, so it’s a little frustrating that the Mets sandwiched perhaps their most fun victory of the season with two annoying losses to the Nationals. But hey: The Nationals are pretty good! With the series win, the Nationals are four games over .500 and only one and a half games behind the first-place Phillies. And they haven’t even brought up Stephen Strasburg yet, and Curt Schilling thinks he’s already the best pitcher in Major League Baseball history. This is actually the most games the Nationals have been over .500 since 2005, though considering the Nats have split their last two, we suppose it’s actually the most games they’ve been over .500 since Tuesday. You know what we mean. The Mets, by the way, are two and a half games behind the Phillies and a game out of the wild card. They play the Marlins tonight.
