Last Sunday, Staten Island Yankees pitching coach Pat Daneker and a couple of ladies he’d met at a bar — they allegedly knew a fellow coach — went back to his Tampa hotel room and, in his words, “mess[ed] around.” (The hotel clerk told police Daneker stopped at the ATM before they went upstairs; he told them that he didn’t remember doing that.) He doesn’t really recall what happened after that, but this much is known: At around 4 a.m., after said ladies (who cops say were wearing “short mini skirts”; good to know!) had left the hotel, he reported the following items missing: His $10,000 World Series ring, two cell phones (a personal one and a team-issued one), and $120 in cash. The women are facing grand-theft charges. [SILive.com via Deadspin]
