The Celtics take a three games to two lead into the Staples Center tonight, but as you surely know by now, Phil Jackson’s teams have won each of the 47 series in which they’ve won game one. Meanwhile, the Celtics are just 1–7 over the past three years when they have a chance to close out a series on the road. But only two of the six teams that have taken a three games to two series lead with two road contests remaining have failed to win the title: The 1988 Pistons and, yes, the 1994 Knicks.
