Going into the World Cup, the overwhelming consensus was that this tournament would be won by either Brazil or Spain. Well, it better be Spain. The Netherlands, the famously talented but temperamental Total Footballers, just upset Brazil 2–1 in the quarterfinals to advance to next Tuesday’s semifinals, where they will play either Uruguay or Ghana. There will be some very sad — but still crazy! — Brazilian fans out there, but their team imploded under pressure, drawing a dumb red card late that sealed their fate. UPSET! Today, everybody feels like these guys. (At this point, we remind you that The Sports Section’s Josh Dean and Will Leitch both had the Dutch winning the tournament going in, though please do not confuse that with us knowing what we’re talking about.)
