You know how Jim Dolan dispatched Isiah Thomas to make one last-ditch effort to woo LeBron James? (Incidentally, during the one stretch in the process, the night before The Decision, that the Knicks were considered real contenders.) Well, according to Frank Isola of the Daily News, Isiah is trying to leverage that into a job back with the Knicks. His pitch, according to Isola: “Jim, Donnie [Walsh] did a great job getting under the cap but he couldn’t close the deal. And forget about all these Olympic stars wanting to play for [Mike] D’Antoni. He couldn’t get LeBron or Wade. I know these guys. I have a relationship with them.” In other words: Now that Walsh cleaned up my mess, I’d like to make another one. If this happens, every Knicks post, from then on, will be written in all caps, and in blood.
