The Mets salvaged one game against the Braves over the weekend, so they’re four games behind Atlanta heading into the barren three days of summer without baseball. The rocky days of late — definitely be worried about Mike Pelfrey now — have cost the Mets their wild-card lead (they’re one game behind the Rockies and the Dodgers) and have dropped their playoff odds to 27.75 percent. Plus, Jose Reyes got hurt over the weekend and will miss the All-Star Game, though he shouldn’t miss any considerable time. There’s good news, though: Carlos Beltran is expected back Thursday night, and he’ll be in center field. Angel Pagan will shift to right field, finally, mercifully, sending Out Machine Jeff Francoeur to the bench. That should be worth a win or two down the stretch, right there.
