The Giants running back addressed reporters yesterday wearing a T-shirt that read “Free 17 Let Him Ball Out,” a reference to imprisoned Super Bowl hero Plaxico Burress. Said Jacobs of his new shirt: “You won’t see that anywhere unless you go and get it made, just like I did.” There’s probably something to be said about Jacobs’s loyalty to his friend, or about the many apparent definitions of “ball out,” but mostly, this story further demonstrates that — save for Kenny Phillips’s return to the field — there isn’t much of note going on at Giants camp these days. Though again: That’s not necessarily a bad thing. [NYP]
