Darrelle Revis Camp Update: Nope, Still Not There

Somehow, some way, the Jets are continuing to practice even though Darrelle Revis still isn’t a part of training camp. We’re not sure we did a good enough job explaining this yesterday, so let’s break it down like this: Darrelle Revis is scheduled to make just over $1 million this year. That’s less than half of what Lance Berkman will make from the Yankees these next two months; that’s a lower salary than the Yankees paid Randy Winn this season. Obviously, both player and team agree that he deserves more than that, and the disagreement is over just how much more. But if Revis weren’t holding out, he’d be admitting that he’s willing to play for utility infielder money — less than utility infielder money, actually — even though he might be the most important player in the NFL. We’d hold out, too.
