Plaxico Burress Accused of Number Theft

As if Plaxico Burress didn’t have enough problems — what with the guilty plea to the weapons charge and the subsequent jail sentence — former Giants punter Jeff Feagles says that Burress also stole his jersey number. You see, when Burress joined the Giants, he wanted to wear No. 17 (which at the time belonged to Feagles) to commemorate his March 17 signing. So as is common practice, the two worked out a deal. Feagles had already gotten a family vacation to Florida from Eli Manning in exchange for his No. 10, so this time he worked out a deal with Burress’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, wherein he’d surrender No. 17 in exchange for a new outdoor kitchen. But Burress still hasn’t paid up, and Rosenhaus has refused to get involved, telling Feagles that it’s between him and Burress. No word yet as to whether these Burress wrongdoings also fall under Mayor Bloomberg’s jurisdiction. [SI.com via Deadspin]
