Alex Rodriguez is signed through 2017, so he doesn’t really need a baseball agent anymore. And now, he doesn’t have one. He’s ended his professional relationship with Scott Boras, the man who famously negotiated his record-setting contract with Texas in December 2000. (He’s still got lawyers, of course, just not ones who serve as his baseball representation.) FoxSports.com reports that the split developed “organically” after the unpleasantness of the fall of 2007. Said Rodriguez earlier today: “I’m not going to get into any details, that’s for sure. But what I will tell you is Scott and I had a good run; nothing drastic happened.” He added, “Some of the things I needed 20 years ago, I don’t really need now.”
