Braylon Edwards Will Play Sunday

Braylon Edwards — who was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving early yesterday morning even though the Jets just last week began offering a free car service for players (gratuities are neither accepted nor allowed!) — will play on Sunday but won’t start. (Via the Post, the team says he’ll play as much as Rex Ryan wants to play him.) As for punishment from the league, he’ll likely only face a $50,000 fine — “only,” in this case, is a relative term — because it’s believed it’s his first offense under the league’s substance-abuse policy. (His altercation outside a Cleveland nightclub last year falls under the league’s conduct policy and reportedly wouldn’t factor into the league’s decision.)
