The Mets Won Their Low-Scoring Game Last Night, at Least

Anyone attempting to flip between the Mets, Yankees, and Jets last night — surely someone must have tried — wasn’t in danger of missing much scoring. (For purposes of this scenario, this hypothetical sports fan follows two baseball teams but has no apparent interest in tennis.) Anyway, unlike those other teams, the Mets prevailed 1-0 in their low-scoring affair last night, thanks to Nick Evans’s game-winning single in the tenth off Pittsburgh’s Chan Ho Park. Dillon Gee, by the way, threw six scoreless innings, allowing his share of base-runners but working out of trouble, albeit against the National League’s worst offensive team.
