Back in 2005, Tiki Barber accused Tom Coughlin of being outcoached after a playoff loss. Two years later, while working for NBC, he called out Eli Manning for what he described as a lack of leadership. And now that the Giants have lost badly two weeks in a row, it appears the waters are safe for Barber to criticize the Giants again. Said Barber, in a Yahoo Sports video, “I don’t know if he’s completely lost control of the team, but it’s definitely slipping away.” Added the former Giants running back: “And right now Tom Coughlin is at a crisis. His job is certainly in jeopardy, particularly because of how they played last year to close out that stadium. We all know how embarrassing that was.” Barber may very well be right in this case, though it’s worth noting that he’s expected to be at New Meadowlands Stadium this coming Sunday, where he’ll be enshrined in the team’s Ring of Honor. Surely that won’t be awkward at all.
