Joe Girardi Agrees to a New Contract

The Yankees wanted Joe Girardi back, and Joe Girardi wanted to come back, so this shouldn’t come as much of a surprise: The Yankees manager has agreed to a new three-year, $9 million contract — a raise over the three-year, $7.5 million pact that expires at the end of the month. A source tells the Post that the contract includes bonuses worth up to $500,000 if the Yankees advance to the ALCS and World Series. Incentives? Don’t tell Joe Torre! [NYP]
