Don’t worry, Yankees fans: Our copy of MLB: the Show says the ALDS is going to work out just fine. We simulated every round of the ALDS — we actually watched our video game play itself, in every game until each series had a winner — and the Yankees wiped out the Twins in four games. Game 1 was a 5–2 breeze (CC Sabathia had twelve strikeouts in eight innings), and Game 2 was just as easy, 6–2 thanks to two Nick Swisher homers. The Yankees stumbled in Game 3, losing 8–3 thanks to a rough outing by Phil Hughes, but the whole series was worth it because of Game 4. That game went 21 innings — look, we can prove it — before Lance Berkman sent everybody home with a walk-off single. If that happens Sunday night, in a game that starts at 8 p.m., the entire city will call into work dead on Monday. If you’re wondering, here’s how our PS3’s random collections of algorithms saw the other three series: Rangers in four, Phillies in five, Braves in three. So get thee to Vegas!
