The Red Storm coach’s 2011 recruiting class is really coming together: Yesterday he scored a fourth commitment from a top-100 recruit when Dom Pointer, a forward from Michigan, chose St. John’s over West Virginia and his home state’s Wolverines. (The Johnnies will be especially deep at small forward: The six-foot-five Pointer, who according to the Post is considered a terrific defender with good ball-handling skills, gives them three of the nation’s top-50 small forwards.) Some bad news for the program in the short term, however: Senior forward Justin Burrell will miss at least a month after breaking his hand during the team’s first practice. [NYT, NYP]
