The result of even a precautionary MRI becomes especially noteworthy as the NFL regular season winds down, so the Jets received good news when tests for Mark Sanchez came back negative yesterday, a day after he injured his throwing shoulder on the Jets’ second drive when he was sacked by James Farrior. Rex Ryan stressed that the injury wasn’t serious — that Sanchez, you know, kept playing also served as a pretty good indication of that — and that “it never affected him.” The Jets are calling it a “sore throwing shoulder,” and Ryan said he expects Sanchez to start against the Bears on Sunday.
