One of Hank’s Yanks Gets a Minor-League Deal

Leonel Vinas, a 19-year-old from Long Island and the ace pitcher last summer for Hank’s Yanks, a baseball team sponsored by Hank Steinbrenner, has signed a minor-league contract with the actual New York Yankees, i.e., Hal and Hank’s Yanks. Steinbrenner’s youth team, according to mlb.com, “is comprised of talented players from diverse socioeconomic backgrounds throughout the New York area,” and last season, Hank’s Yanks defeated Mariano Rivera’s All-Stars at Yankee Stadium to win the first annual Boss’ Cup. The pitcher Vinas beat to clinch that title, by the way? Mariano Rivera Jr. [mlb.com]
