Amar’e Stoudemire Was Called for Another Technical Foul Today

That’s twelve on the year, and remember why this matters: He receives an automatic one-game suspension for technical No. 16 and is then suspended another game for every other technical after that. (The Knicks, by the way, haven’t even hit the season’s halfway point yet; they’ll do that Wednesday night in Houston.) And not to bury the lede here, but today’s Martin Luther King Jr. Day matinee saw the Knicks drop their third straight — this one a 129–121 loss to the Suns, who they’d routed just ten days earlier in Phoenix. (Stoudemire scored 41 points, his most as a Knick, in this afternoon’s loss. Vince Carter led the Suns with 29 points, and in doing so, reached the 20,000-career-point mark.) The good news for the Knicks? Danilo Gallinari returned from injury to start and score seventeen points in 31 minutes of action.
