Long before Larry Johnson was responsible for one of the great pieces of video in Knicks history — this wide shot of the Garden crowd exploding when he hit his three-pointer while being fouled by Antonio Davis in 1999 — he was responsible for one of the most memorable sneaker ad campaigns of the decade. And now, Grandmama has returned, and this time she’s hawking a line of sweet teas. According to the website for the teas, which are currently in development: “Inspired by the sweet tea from his childhood in Texas and from the famous character created in his series of commercials for Converse, Larry will be introducing the Grandmama’s Sweet Southern Tea in the coming months.” There appears to be a commercial already, too. (Animated skateboarding Grandmama? Animated skateboarding Grandmama.) So all that’s left to complete the comeback is the long-awaited reunion with Grandmama’s two-on-two teammate, noted hoopster Steve Urkel. [Ball Don’t Lie/Yahoo]
