Yesterday, Jeff Wilpon and four Mets — Mike Pelfrey, R.A. Dickey, Bobby Parnell, and Dillon Gee — spent the day at the FDNY’s training facility on Randall’s Island, taking part in exercises ranging from extinguishing a car fire to dropping feet-first off a five-story building. (See the badass video of their training below.) If you’re keeping track, the GM of one of our baseball teams now has experience rappelling down a building, while the COO of the other has experience forcibly entering a burning room. This off-season is turning into a bad Vin Diesel movie.
