Let’s hope that Long Island and Syracuse and (cough) Illinois can liven things up a bit tonight, because the NCAA Tournament took a big nod toward yawn in its second (or fourth, if you’re counting in the dumb way the NCAA counts) day. We’ve had no upsets; nothing but chalk, so far. George Mason provided the lone excitement, charging back to beat Villanova and cause announcer Gus Johnson to have yet another aneurysm. (Honestly, how is he still alive?) Everyone took their cue from Duke, who unfortunately didn’t become the first ever No. 1 seed to lose in the first round. (Alas.) Just to sate your Duke hate, here’s that Elton Brand email again. Anyway, it’s LIU and ‘Cuse tonight. And of course two full more days of this after that. Who cares if it’s gorgeous outside?
