As you know, God’s Gift — as in God’s Gift Achiuwa, the first-team juco All-American — visited St. John’s Queens campus over the Easter weekend. And now, God’s Gift has committed to playing for the Red Storm in the fall, choosing the Johnnies over Cincinnati and Washington. St. John’s has one of the best incoming recruiting classes in the country, but it’s heavy on wings, so the six-foot-eight forward should strengthen Steve Lavin’s frontcourt. A transfer from Erie (N.Y.) Community College, he’ll have two years of eligibility (and, one imagines, two years of headlines that play off of his name) at St. John’s. [ESPN New York]
