The Yankees had their fun yesterday in the Bronx, and tonight, the Mets get their season started down in Florida. (We sort of appreciate that the game has a post-business-hours 7:10 start time.) It’s been a long off-season for the Mets (and especially for their fans), from the front office turnover to the ongoing Madoff-lawsuit drama. (If you’re ready to laugh at the Mets’ finances, we direct you to Chris Rock on Letterman last night.) But you should be able to kick back and watch tonight’s game without having to endure any Madoff-related speculation. (That’s right from the mouth of Gary Cohen, by the way.) Mets fans have had a whole off-season to hear about Irving Picard. Tonight, there’s baseball. Sidd Finch Mike Pelfrey gets the start for the Mets against the Marlins’ Josh Johnson.
Happy Opening Day, Part Two!
